I would suggest either put it back on the country you found it or hand it over to the Kabi Kabi lands council or native title representatives.

Holding onto these items may bring sickness to yourself or family. Sacred tools are not for your ownership.

I saw water taps – but they said “Non potable”. There is a camp ground and toilet block there, so I think there’s a good chance you’d be able to get drinking water, otherwise what would campers do? The creek looks pretty drinkable.
I reckon you’d be safer doing this one with at least one other person you trusted. Some of the country is rough and remote, and (on this loop) one or two parts of the track are difficult to see in places.
You might find it more fun as an overnighter. Start at Jimna, go to the dam, and follow one or two forest tracks to Imbil. That’s a big town – you could probably stay in a pub there, then get back to Jimna via Kenilworth and Sunday Creek Road.
I can do up a route for you if you have a GPS.
