Hey Mate, Brilliant blog, I’m keen to find my way over to Fernvale as well from the tip turn off at Dundas rd, likely doing some exploring tomorrow, If you could spare the gpx for the above mentioned ride that would be really handy, cheers.

Hi Peter, here’s one idea:
Start at Dundas Rd, go down Dundas Rd and Whoah Boy Break.
At the bottom, turn right through the “Private Property” sign (they don’t mind mountain bikers) and follow their steep driveway down to Banks Creek Road.
Follow Banks Creek Rd into Fernvale.
Return via England Creek Road to the crossroads at the bottom of Joyners Ridge Rd. It’s steep and rough in one or two spots.
There are two ways up to the crossroads from Fernvale. Take the northernmost (left-hand) option. The southern (right-hand) way up is hard work. You can see what I’m referring to here: https://goo.gl/LmlMPJ
At the crossroads, climb back up via Joyners Ridge Road. It’s the easiest of the 3 alternatives. If you don’t mind the extra distance, return via England Ck and Lawton Road – it’s scenic, but it’s a long climb.
Then follow Mt Glorious Rd back to Dundas Rd to get your car.
Avoid Goodes Road. It’s awesome either way on an MTB, but dangerous on CX.
If you need GPX let me know.
Neil

sorry to bother you again you gave me some tips on Lake Manchester to Fernvale a couple of weeks ago. This time I’m looking to down and back up the back of Glorious on a CX bike. What do you reckon would be the best way to descend (may go down Northbrook Parkway if any of the others are too hairy on a CX) and the best way to get back up again.
I believe the choices are Lawnton, Joyners Ridge or Goodes.
Thanks
Peter Haley
