Hi Neil. Thanks for posting Gympie > Kilkilvan route which I’ll use in Oct. What sections have compact dirt or gravel or unsealed roads?

Reminiscent of the Goat Track or The Link Rd off Maclean Rd S. Steep but ridable and in good condition. I did it with a loaded gravel bike and made it the whole way up with a couple of stops (for pictures!).

Once over the top the road steadily deteriorates and there is still some pitchy sections. The top of Black Snake Rd is rough but doable to the lakes and then there is an amazing descent on a sealed road (?!) before rolling into Kilkivan.
