Yes – as far as I could see it’s a public path all the way down. It’s steep at the bottom.
It brings you out on W James Road here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/D1bxKiBmK5GhfCBq7
There’s a road sign at the bottom pointing back the way you came which says to me it’s public access.
From there it’s not far to some nice swimming holes at the top of the Caboolture River.
It’s a great part of the world.

I live in Ocean view and because of your article recently stumbled upon this track with my horses!

I know it has been years since you posted this, where on thornhill chase does this pop up at the bottom?

Is it council owned the whole way down?

We’ve been back to Dean Drive a few times and found a rough way through from Zilman Rd – but your way sounds much better. I’ll try that route next time!

Just browsing, saw your site. We live at 21 Dean Drive, Ocean View. You would’ve dropped down from Dean Drive and gone through the Reserve (to Thornhill Chase) on a firebreak which is cleared regularly by the council. If you had turned right about 200m from the top of this break, there is a break that follows the contour along the bottom of 13-31 Dean Drive properties. This eventually comes out near the end of Dean Drive’s cul-de-sac. From there you can drop down the waterfall adjacent to this area, or skip through to Zillman Rd. Hope that helps.
