Hi Peter
When we did this ride 9 years ago, there were no angry “Private Property” signs. At the time I thought I was following road reserves for most of the way except for a hundred metres or so.
Obviously I was wrong.
I couple of friends of mine have had run-ins with the land owner, so my advice is (unless he gives the ok) don’t try to pass through the property.
As an alternative, you could follow our course in reverse west from Neurum Creek and just follow Westvale Road to the end. It’s a nice ride.

Hi Neil, have been scoping out a similar ride. Did you have any issue traversing West Vale Station on the Western decent, eg. Any permission required? Exiting from the NP there is an unlocked closed gate although a fairly threatening Private Property sign implying permission required to enter & from the Western side a ‘Private Road’ sign into/out off the property? I note a ‘video surveillance’ sign also precedes the access down to the dam . Any advice/tips much appreciated.

Glad you managed to do the ride. Did you swim in Lake Somerset?
Those rolling hills and creeks are pleasant aren’t they?

Four of us did this ride yesterday. The oppressive heat made it a bit less enjoyable than it otherwise would have been but it was still a good ride.
We parked in the same area you did so we didn’t pay for parking.
