Mount Hennessy
After making it half-way up the mountain last week, we felt compelled to come back to the end of the Black Duck Creek valley and complete a loop up to the top of the range and back down via Mount Hennessy. As usual, it was steeper, rougher and more spectacular than we had anticipated.

If you head south from Gatton towards the Queensland border, you’ll eventually run into an imposing wall of mountains. The Great Dividing Range is difficult to cross here, except for a couple of hidden valleys. Today we visited Black Duck Creek and explored one of these secret pockets

Gus Beutel Lookout
I took the family to Gus Beutel Lookout on the weekend.
It’s a breathtaking spot on the edge of the Great Dividing Range between Hampton and Esk. On our way home from Toowoomba, we decided to take the scenic route rather than battle all the roadworks on the Warrego Highway.

Great Sandy National Park is spectacular wilderness area north of Noosa, covering over 2,000 square kilometres. Today’s adventure took us from Elanda Point in the south, through the rainforests near Kin Kin Creek then northwards into the Cooloola section of the Park.

Harrys Hut
The purpose of todays ride was to explore some trails around the upper reaches Noosa River in the hope of finding an enjoyable route for a group ride next week.
A bunch of us are planning to ride from Kin Kin in the Noosa hinterland to Harrys Hut – a camping area on the banks of the beautiful Noosa River.
So Eric and I decided we should look around to find the best tracks… and have some fun at the same time!
