“Belhaven” is a 150 hectare cattle property that sits atop the Little Liverpool Range at Tallegalla west of Ipswich.  When the landowners generously allowed us to explore their property, we jumped at the opportunity.

Between them Darb and Russel aimed to ride almost two thousand kilometres in October to raise money to support Cancer Research. On the last day of October, I took a long ride with them to be there when they finally reached their goal.

Coochin Creek

Pine Forest 1024
Coochin Creek has always been a forest. The plains that stretch eastwards from the Glasshouse Mountains to the Bribie Passage were once covered with vast tracts of She-Oaks, Paperbarks and Gum Trees. Today it’s still a forest, but most of the trees have been replaced with plantation pines.

Finally able to ride again after two months of recovery, I decided that today I would make up for lost time. We weren’t quite sure where we could end up – the idea was to keep on riding as long as it was enjoyable… which is very open-ended.
