Woondum National Park spans the picturesque mountains near Gympie. It’s a perfect place to explore on a mountain bike.
I enjoyed hours of fun as child on my bike, rolling around the local neighborhood with friends.
Today, when Calum took us for a spin around some local trails, I realized I am still that same kid, just in an older body.
On Day two of our “Big Ride” I had to return home, leaving my friends in Toogoolawah. They continued their long journey to Gympie.
“Let’s get on our bikes and disappear for a few days.”
Adventure-loving mountain bikers often have thoughts like that.
Today we decided to do something about it.
Nestled between the rainforests of the D’Aguilar Range and mangroves of Moreton Bay lies the city of Brisbane. Over a million people call it home. Our ride today took us in a huge loop over those mountains, through the rainforests and down to the bay.
Today we rode our fat bikes along the shoreline of Bribie Island for as long as we could, before the tide came in.
