The tides were favourable. The temperatures were cool. A paddle on the Caboolture River seemed like a good idea.
Today’s adventure involved kayaks and bikes as we traced out a large loop around the North Pine River and Redcliffe.
While I asked myself the question, several locations flashed through my mind. The Noosa River was near the top of the list.
It had been raining for a few days, with more forecast. The tides were high. The decision was easy: we’d leave the bikes at home and paddle up a delightful tidal creek for a few hours instead.
Paddling on Lake Samsonvale is like jumping into a postcard. When my friend Michael offered me the chance to try it, I didn’t hesitate.
Today we paddled our kayaks up the North Pine River, exploring some of the creeks and gullies upstream.
Some of the best experiences happen when you’re pleasantly surprised. Amsterdam is surprising in the best possible way. Liz and I have just spent three days here. While not enough time to see everything, it gave us a taste of the city and an appreciation for the Dutch people. Continue Reading
