A short ferry ride over the Noosa River from Tewantin, there is a vast sandy wilderness next to the ocean, perfect for exploring on a fat bike.
Today’s adventure took us on a large loop through the mountains between Kenilworth and Imbil, with a short stint along the Mary Valley Rail Trail
“It’s going to rain on Saturday,” someone said to me during the week.
“Let’s turn up anyway,” I replied, “and see what happens.”
I’m glad we did.
Today’s adventure happened accidentally. We had planned to just ride up and down the beach, but the weather forced us to change our plans.
Today’s ride followed a large leisurely “figure of eight” through the scenic hills and creeks of the Noosa hinterland.
Today’s ride and hike took us to a couple of great lookouts, and along some fun tracks near the small Sunshine Coast town of Yandina.
Great Sandy National Park has some wonderfully diverse landscapes. Today we explored some of that diversity on our bikes.
